The album was released in 1984 by Erasmo Carlos, a singer-songwriter from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, who was a core member of the pop-rock group Jovem Guarda in the 1960s, and since the 1970s has been working as a solo artist, releasing numerous duets with various MPB artists, as well as composing many famous songs with his ally Roberto Carlos. The album was released in 1984 and features Gilberto Gil, Ze Carlos, Nivaldo Ornelas, Lulu Santos and others. The album is a combination of his rock and roll roots and a lot of spacey synthesizer sounds such as Prophet-5, Juno 60 and vocoder. Although it is quite pop-oriented, it also features a relaxing reggae tune, A4, scored by Gilberto Gil, and a disco rock tune, B5, with a tight rhythm section and roaring electric guitar topped with trippy synth sounds. The album also includes a number of tracks that take an approach not seen on other albums. (Chee)
