Released in 1973, this album is by Fairuz, the legendary Lebanese diva of Arab song, who began her career in 1949 and remained active for more than half a century, even releasing new work in 2010 at the age of 75. The album features highlights from one of the popular musical plays written by the Rahbani Brothers, who created numerous scores for Fairuz. Among the many standout moments are A1, known as a song composed by Ziad Rahbani for his mother Fairuz when he was still in his teens, and A3, whose opening section — with Fairuz singing emotionally over acoustic piano — is simply spellbinding. A truly wonderful album that allows listeners to fully savor the charm of Fairuz. The performances are also superb, incorporating refined, modern arrangements while retaining a strong ethnic character. Highly recommended.

A1: Sa Alouni Annass
A3: Layali Ash' Shemal Al Hazina
B1: Ya Dara Douri Fina
