This album was released in 1980 by Fania All Stars, a group of musicians from Fania Records, a label founded by Italian-American Cuban music lover Jerry Masucci and Dominican musician Johnny Pacheco. The album was recorded during the recording session for "Delicate And Jumpy" in 1976, an improvisational session featuring Johnny Pacheco, Ray Barretto, Papo Lucca, Nicky Marrero, and Bobby Valentin. The opening track, "A1", is the best of the bunch, and you can hear the sophisticated salsa throughout, with dramatic and emotional performances that include elements of Latin jazz.
