Franco Ambrosetti Quintet with Bennie Wallace
Close Encounter
Enja (Germany) 1978
3017 (LP) coated sleeve.
sleeve : EX(slightly color-faded.)
media : EX/EX-(some very slightly hairlines that does not affect to sounds. the beginning of B1 has some slick noises caused by very small scratch.)

By Swiss trumpeter Franco Ambrosetti, who has been active since the early 60s in groups such as Giorgio Azzolini and Franco Tonani, and was a member of the Miroslav Vitous Group and also played on ECM's 1981 release. Side A, which features three of Ambrosetti's own compositions, is a very powerful, straightforward hard bop. The B-side is recommended. B1, a score by George Gruntz about a spring morning, is an elegant number that progresses gently, while B2, featuring a Joachim Kuhn number, is a modal tune with a cool theme refrain.
