By Swiss trumpeter Franco Ambrosetti, who has been active since the early 60s in groups such as Giorgio Azzolini and Franco Tonani, and was a member of the Miroslav Vitous Group and also played on ECM's 1981 release. Side A, which features three of Ambrosetti's own compositions, is a very powerful, straightforward hard bop. The B-side is recommended. B1, a score by George Gruntz about a spring morning, is an elegant number that progresses gently, while B2, featuring a Joachim Kuhn number, is a modal tune with a cool theme refrain.
