French saxophonist François Jeanneau, known for his outstanding work in a trio with Henri Texier and Daniel Humair, released his second leader album in 1976. This quartet recording features Jean-François Jenny-Clark (bass), Michel Graillier (piano), and Aldo Romano (drums, percussion). The album kicks off with A1, an intensely played track that maintains a taut, pleasant tension—an instant standout. A3, with its cool yet fiery energy, is another highlight, blending modal foundations with a progressive, spiritual jazz sensibility. Packed with a variety of musical elements, this album is one of Jeanneau's masterpieces. It's simply outstanding. Original French pressing.
