An album released in 1976 by the American saxophonist Frank Lowe, who left a significant mark not only through his participation in albums like Don Cherry's "Relativity Suite" and "Brown Rice," as well as Alice Coltrane's "World Galaxy," but also through his own impactful solo and leadership works. This album features a quintet with powerhouse musicians such as Joseph Bowie on trombone, Leo Smith on trumpet, flugelhorn, and wooden flute, Alex Blake on bass, and Charles Bobo Shaw on drums. It's a masterpiece that unfolds edgy avant-garde jazz, fully embracing elements of Afro-jazz and rock. Especially noteworthy are the razor-sharp performances on A1 and B2, where Lowe's sinuous tenor saxophone and Blake's abstract bass play shine brightly. This album was ahead of its time even in 1976. Highly recommended.

A1: Sun Voyage
B2: Third St. Shop
