Friedrich Gulda, a leading Austrian jazz pianist who has been active at the forefront of jazz and classical music since the early 1950s, released this album in 1982, which features compositions composed for drummer/vocalist Ursula Anders. Anders was Gulda's partner in life, and like Gulda, is a gem of a musician, playing everything from jazz to contemporary music. This album features an orchestral piece that features Ursula's operatic vocals in a big way, and you can experience Gulda's classical side, but it is unique in that it features jazz musicians such as Wayne Darling (b) and Michael Honzak (ds). The B-side in particular is a combination of jazz and classical music. Especially on the B-side, you can enjoy Gulda's unique world that transcends the boundaries between jazz and classical music.
