An album released in 1981 by Gal Costa, the Bahian diva who, along with Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, helped create the Tropicália movement. While danceable tracks like A1, with its light percussion beats, crisp cutting guitar, and flamboyant horn section, are excellent, the slow tunes where Gal Costa's sweet vocals truly shine are equally captivating. These include A2, an elegant and moody track swaying to a mambo-like rhythm, A4, with its beautiful ensemble of strings and chorus, and B3, a mellow tune featuring the melting sound of a Fender Rhodes. This is a very good album. Original pressing purchased in Brazil.
A2: Meu Bem, Meu Mal
A4: Roda Baiana
B3: Tapete Magico
