An album released in 1969 as part of the Collection Loisirs series by the French Vogue label, featuring Armenian tar player Garikine and his ensemble. The album presents a full collection of Armenian folk music performed on the tar, a bowed lute-like instrument with two resonating chambers made of mulberry wood, traditionally played in Armenia, Iran, and other Middle Eastern countries. The tar’s oriental melodies, divided into 15 microtonal steps per octave, create an enchanting and exotic atmosphere.
