This album was released in 1971 by Gary Burton, an American jazz vibraphone player who has been active since the early 1960s and has left some excellent works on ECM. Side A is a live recording made during an appearance at the Montreuux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in 1971. Side B was recorded in a studio in New York City, and in addition to the main vibraphone on all tracks, he also plays the piano, electric piano, and organ himself. B1 is an emotional cover of a song by British singer/songwriter Michael d'Abo, B2 is a vibraphone and piano performance of a song by Steve Swallow, who has also recorded with ECM, and B4 is a solo vibraphone cover of an Antonio Carlos Jobim B4 is a vibraphone's solo cover of an Antonio Carlos Jobim song.
