This is the 1981 album by jazz bassist Gary Peacock, who was deeply involved in the free jazz movement in early 1960s New York and collaborated with musicians like Ornette Coleman and Don Cherry. In the late 1970s, he worked with ECM regulars such as Art Lande, Jack DeJohnette, and Keith Jarrett. The album was recorded in 1980 in a New York studio with a trio consisting of Art Lande (piano), Eliot Zigmund (drums), and Gary Peacock on bass. Throughout the album, you'll find sophisticated contemporary jazz that paints a subtle emotional landscape, with the piano and bass layering highly lyrical melodies over drums that emphasize the high-frequency range, primarily focused on cymbals. This refined contemporary jazz captures a delicate atmosphere, and it's a hallmark of the ECM label's distinctive style. Highly recommended for jazz enthusiasts.
