This is a leader album by Gary Peacock, a jazz bassist who was committed to the free jazz movement in New York in the early 1970s and played with Ornette Coleman and Don Cherry, and in the late 1970s worked with ECM regulars such as Art Lande, Jack DeJohnette and Keith Jarrett. This is the trio with Keith Jarrett (p) and Jack DeJohnette (ds), with whom he has played together many times since then. All songs on the album have original scores by Peacock. This is a gem of a record that allows you to experience the magnificence of Gary Peacock, who, along with his ex-wife Arnette Peacock, Paul Bley and Carla Bley, paints a lyrical and emotional picture of the New York loft jazz scene.
