Released in 1978, this album as a leader is by jazz bassist Gary Peacock, who immersed himself in the free-jazz movement of early-1960s New York and performed with figures such as Ornette Coleman and Don Cherry, before later working extensively in the late 1970s with ECM-associated musicians including Art Lande, Jack DeJohnette, and Keith Jarrett.
The album features a trio with Jarrett on piano and DeJohnette on drums, two musicians with whom Peacock would go on to collaborate repeatedly over the years. All of the compositions are Peacock originals. Alongside his former wife Annette Peacock and musicians such as Paul Bley and Carla Bley, Gary Peacock stands out within the New York loft-jazz milieu for the extraordinary lyricism of the inner landscapes he creates. This gem of an album offers a beautiful example of that deeply personal and evocative sensibility. Original German pressing.
