This is the 1980 album by the American saxophonist George Adams, known for his quintet work "Paradise Space Shuttle" released in 1979 that was featured on the guidebook “obscure sound”. The album is a collaboration with his close friend, the pianist Don Pullen, who has worked together in groups led by Albert Ayler, among others. The quartet lineup includes Cameron Brown on bass and Dannie Richmond on drums.
Throughout the album, you can savor the organic atmosphere of spiritual jazz reminiscent of Pharoah Sanders' acclaimed album "Thembi." The tracks include A1, which delicately layers melodies with an irregular waltz rhythm, A2 featuring a fantastic blend of primitive groove and Adams' funky vocals in a blues jazz style, and B2 where the flute and piano gently dance through the sonic space. Highly recommended for those who appreciate the spiritual and organic essence of jazz.
