Saxophonist George Adams, who left behind numerous masterpieces including 'Paradise Space Shuttle' introduced in the first edition of the guidebook 'obscure sound,' and who has participated in many great works ranging from spiritual artists like Hannibal, McCoy Tyner, and Cecil McBee to soul artists like The Fatback Band, released an album in 1976 on the excellent Italian label HORO. The quintet, featuring his close associates Don Pullen (p), David Friesen (b), Dannie Richmond (ds), and Afonso Vieira (per), recorded this session in Rome the same year. The album includes a free jazz suite A1, which also features "Autumn Song" reinterpreted in the 1980 release 'Don’t Lose Control' from Soul Note, a blues jazz piece B1 showcasing Adams at his best, and a duet with Pullen on electric piano B2. This is a superb masterpiece, with all tracks being exceptional. The jacket includes handwritten signatures of Adams and Richmond.
There are intermittent light clicks due to a 1cm scratch in the middle of B1, and there are light clicks caused by a small dent press error in B2.
