A 1978 album by female harpist Georgia Kelly, also known for her collaborations with California new age artist Steven Halpern. This copy is the 1987 reissue released by Global Pacific Records. A1 adapts the raga system of Indian classical music to the chordal and harmonic structures of Western music, while B3 is based on an ancient Greek mode. B4 uses a scale built around perfect fifths to evoke the peaceful transition from just before dawn through sunrise. Throughout the album, Kelly’s delicate playing on a grand harp made by the Italian manufacturer Salvi creates vivid images of beautiful seascapes. A superb example of acoustic new age music.
A1: Nilapadma (Blue Lotus)
B2: Chinese Sunrise
