An album released in 1970 by GERM Ensemble, a group formed in 1966 by Swiss composer Pierre Marietan. The participating members are Gérard Frémy (piano), Philippe Blachette (violin), Philippe Drogoz (bass), Louis Roquin (trumpet), Chantal Lemaire (cello), Martine Joste (piano), Jean-Yves Bosseur (rebab, flute), and Bernadette Val (vocals). Side A features Keyboard Study No. 2, a piece composed in 1969 by the master Terry Riley for solo piano. It's a brilliant track that paints a moiré-like world through endlessly repeated minimalist riffs. Side B contains an original score by Marietan titled Initiative (+Systemes), a graphic-style contemporary music piece performed by the full ensemble.
