This album features the sextet led by Milanese jazz pianist Giorgio Gaslini, a highly acclaimed figure in the Italian new jazz scene. In addition to bassist Paolo Damiani, percussionist Luis Agudo and saxophonist Giannni Berodi, whose leader albums are featured in the both edition of guidebooks "OBSCURE SOUND”, and reed player Gianluigi Trovesi, who released a strong experimental jazz sound on Splasc(h) in 1989. This album is the spearhead of the Italian avant-jazz scene. The result is a tense performance from start to finish that combines the soul of John Coltrane with the ethnic and radical side of Don Cherry and the unique groove of Mal Waldron's classic "The Call" on Japo. This is a great album.
