The debut leader album by American trombonist Glenn Ferris, released in 1980. Ferris is known for his work with a wide range of artists including Stevie Wonder, Billy Cobham, Average White Band, and The Brothers Johnson. Recorded live that same year at Cardinal Paf, a club in Village Saint-Paul, Paris, this album features Ferris alongside Collectif Planete Carree: Jean-Pierre Debarbat on tenor sax, Olivier Hutman on electric piano, Jacques Vidal on bass, and Donny Donable on drums. The entire set consists of Ferris’s original compositions. Highlights include the breezy, Latin-tinged groove of A4 and the fast-moving, energetic jazz-rock burner B1. Hutman’s electric piano work is superb throughout.

A4: If I “Were” a Bird
B1: Cyclosis
