Released in 1978, this album is by Globe Unity, a collective centered around pianist Alexander von Schlippenbach and featuring fifteen free improvisers in total, including Peter Brötzmann, Albert Mangelsdorff, Kenny Wheeler, Manfred Schoof, Evan Parker, Derek Bailey, Günter Christmann, and Peter Kowald. As its title suggests, the album presents free improvisation throughout, divided into four parts. Individual solo performances introduce ideas that gradually accumulate and develop into an overwhelming flood of sound. A classic featuring an exceptionally fascinating performance.
