This album is an undiscovered masterpiece by the quintet led by Swiss female jazz singer Gloria Niemann, featuring Rene Zedi (vib), Bruno Durring (p), Jurg Salchli (b) and Juan Puigventos (ds). Although Niemann has not had a major career apart from a couple of albums in the seventies and eighties, her vocals, which are relatively straight-ahead jazz numbers in the modern, ragtime and blues genres, are very impressive. And her vocals are so good that her cover Miles Davis on A3 and Antonio Carlos Jobim on B1. The B2 was written by Michel Legrand in 1969 for the American film "The Happy Ending" has been sung by many singers since, and it’s a beautiful and sad ballad number. Too good to be true. Why is it that a work like this is hidden from the public?
