Released in 1984, this album brings together Guido Manusardi, the veteran Italian pianist who has remained at the forefront of the jazz scene since the 1960s, and Argentine saxophonist and flutist Hugo Heredia, who also participated in the recording of Astor Piazzolla’s historic masterpiece Libertango. Recorded in Milan, Italy. The album opens with the contemporary classical-inspired introduction of A1, followed by A2, where Heredia’s gentle flute floats gracefully over Manusardi’s restrained piano. Other highlights include B1, an interpretation of a Joe Henderson classic arranged like a pleasantly refreshing breeze. The organic atmosphere that colors the entire album is truly wonderful. A superb contemporary jazz album. Highly recommended. Original Italian pressing.
