MGI Records (Germany) 1987

sleeve : EX-(SRW, wear on edge and corner, light wrinkles.)
media : EX-/EX-(some light noises. some light click noises.)

The first and only analog release of the debut leader album by German guitarist/free improviser Gunnar Geisse, who has also collaborated with Peter Brotzmann, Pierre Favre, Elliott Sharp, Douglas Ewart, Markus Stockhausen, and others. Released in 1987, the album features a trio with Georg Wolf (b) and Matthias Geisse (ds). Throughout the album, there's a deep contemporary jazz atmosphere, with tracks like A2 featuring floating guitar and bass string scrapes amidst a dense, lush ambiance, while B4 showcases lyrically drawn landscapes with the wet touch of the guitar. Additionally, tracks like B2 feature electronic guitar tones triggered by guitar synthesizers or synthesizers, creating an intriguing blend. The overall tranquil atmosphere is truly remarkable. Highly recommended for fans of ECM guitar works by artists like Bill Connors and Pat Metheny.
