This album was released in 1971 by Gunter Hampel, a German multi-instrumentalist who began his career in the early 50's, and in the 60's he played on ESP Disk, and was a member of Cecil Taylor and Art Ensemble of Chicago during their European activities. Jeanne Lee (vo), Perry Robinson (cl), and Jack Greeg (b,vl,ft) participate. The entire work is a free jazz symphony of impressive piano and saxophone phrases intertwined with a curious balance of percussion, vibraphone, clarinet, flute, and voice improvisation. I am captivated by the voice of Jeanne Lee, whose distinctive vocals were also featured on Enrico Rava's classic 1976 album "Quotation Marks" on JAPO. Highly recommended.
