This album features works by Maurice Ravel by Harumi Hanafusa, a Japanese pianist who specializes in playing works by Debussy, Ravel, and others and is highly acclaimed in Europe and other countries. The A-side, "Gaspard de la nuit," was composed in 1908 and consists of three parts. The b-side "Mirror" is a five-part suite composed in 1905. It depicts colorful landscapes using whole-tone scales and higher harmonics.
