Hector Lavoe, a Puerto Rican singer who joined Willie Colon's band as a vocalist at the age of 17 and went on to sing solo and with Fania All Star, released this classic album in 1978. Lavoe's lustrous voice and melancholy vocals are the main attraction of this album, which was reissued on Vivid Sound's Latin series in 1986. The first track, written by Ruben Blades, is a classic that Joe Clausell also included on a compilation album of his own selecting.
