After debuting in the early 1960s as a bossa nova and bolero singer, Buenos Aires–born tango vocalist Horacio Molina gravitated toward tango through collaborations with Astor Piazzolla and Eladia Blázquez, and later developed relationships with Brazilian musicians during the 1970s as a businessman. This album was released in 1981 during the period when he had relocated to France. Featuring elegant performances by master musicians such as bandoneón player Walter Rios—who also played in Litto Nebbia’s quartet—pianist Juan Carlos Cirigliano and violinist Fernando Suarez Paz, both of whom performed with Piazzolla, the album showcases sophisticated tango vocal music highlighted by Molina’s mature, evocative singing voice.
