This was featured in the first edition of the guidebook 'obscure sound'. This album was released in 1976 by Hozan Yamamoto, and recorded live at Tokyo Cathedral Maria with Norio Maeda (piano), Yasuo Arakawa (b) and Takeshi Inomata (dr). This is a full-length improvisation piece with a floating, pause-like introduction that is characteristic of the Japanese tradition of classical music, followed by a slow and steady development that brings various scenes to mind. The exquisite reverberation of the church's unique structure is also recorded in a truly vivid way, the sound world like an ink painting. Every moment is wonderful, but listen first to the following part. This was re-released in 1980 in the 'Japanese Jazz Heroes Masterpieces' series.
