A masterpiece album released in 1980 by Hozan Yamamoto, a shakuhachi player who left a great legacy not only in classical arts but also through his contemporary activities. This work was recorded in 1979 with Masahiko Togashi, Japan's esteemed drummer/percussionist who continued to perform and develop his unique playing style despite being paralyzed from the waist down due to a spinal injury, and Masahiko Satoh, a leading Japanese jazz pianist who has been active on the frontlines since his debut with the leader album "Palladium" in 1969. Serving as a second installment following the historically acclaimed "Silver World" released in 1971, this album was a collaboration Yamamoto himself sought with the two musicians. Although the compositions are credited to all three, the album is almost entirely free improvisation, boldly expressing the mystique of nature, which can be considered the archetypal landscape of Japan, through extremely organic ethno-spiritual jazz. It's truly magnificent.
There are two 2cm scratches from track B1 to B2, and there are intermittent clicking noises on B2.
