Released in 1986 under the production of William Ackerman, founder of Windham Hill Records, together with his close collaborator Dawn Atkinson, this is a collaborative album by Ira Stein and Russel Walder. Multi-instrumentalist Mark Isham, known for his excellent work on ECM Records, joins on synthesizers, programming, and electronic percussion, while also handling co-production and mixing duties. The result blends refined new-age electronics with beautifully understated acoustic pieces, including gently flowing oboe-and-piano ensembles that are a real pleasure to listen to. A true hidden gem, sharing a sonic sensibility with Interior, also released on the same label. Highly recommended.
