Released in 1985, this is the second album by German virtuoso guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Jan Reimer, known for his acrobatic technique of using the guitar body as percussion. As suggested by the subtitle, Guitar & Experimental Guitar Percussion, this work prominently features Reimer’s signature guitar-percussion style. While the album includes beautiful pastoral slow numbers with melancholic melodies, highlights include B1, where rhythmic percussive beats intertwine with unique, almost effect-like bending sounds that create a swirling whammy effect, and B2, a spiritually rich piece that combines nostalgia with a sense of momentum. The album’s style is similar to that of German guitarist Sigi Schwab, known for collaborations with Wolfgang Dauner, Chris Hinze, and Peter Horton.
