The album features a collaboration of Jimmy Smith, an American Hammond organist who began his career in the 1950s and established his own unique style with his characteristic playing technique, which greatly influenced future generations, and Wes Montgomery, an American guitarist who passed away in 1968 at the age of 45, while leaving behind many great performances with his octave technique that combined melody and improvisation. Recorded in 1966 with a brass big band under the direction and arrangement of Oliver Nelson. The album features bluesy and groovy funky jazz with a thick horn section. This is a domestic reissue released in 1973 on Polydor's <Modern Jazz Verve Best> series.
