A 1974 leader album by Swiss jazz pianist Joe Haider, who inherited the spiritualism of John Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders. It features a quintet with Andy Scherrer (sax), Ack van Rooyen (flh), Gunter Lenz (bass), and Todd Canedy (drums). This is a masterpiece of ecstatic spiritual European jazz, with powerful and cool blowing. The excellent melodic sense of each member is, of course, outstanding, but Todd Canedy's tight drumming is superb. In addition to the exhilarating, straight-ahead performances, the flowing, beautiful sounds of B1 and B2 shine. The mixing engineer who created the well-balanced, solid sound is none other than Connie Plank. This is a Kraut jazz masterpiece.
