The Double Quintet, consisting of composer/violinist John Mayer from Calcutta, India, and saxophone player Joe Harriot, also from India, released this album in 1967, following "Indo-Jazz Suite". In addition to the reed and rhythm instrumentation, Indian musicians on sitar, tambura, tabla, and other instruments play a combination of jazz and beat structure based on Indian classical music composed by Mayer, and the music is played modally with improvisation, creating a classic piece of ethnic jazz. This is the Original US pressing.
