This is the original soundtrack album for Mike’s Murder, directed by James Bridges and scored by Joe Jackson, the British vocalist and multi-instrumentalist active since the late 1970s. Initially known as a new wave artist, Jackson’s musical style has continually evolved over the years—embracing reggae, jive, jazz, and more—and that eclectic sensibility works beautifully in this soundtrack. Of particular note is side B, track 1, a superb mid-tempo Afro-Latin jazz number on which Jackson himself performs keyboards, vibes, xylophone, and saxophone with impressive versatility. The album also includes B2, featuring lush synthesizer arrangements, and B3, built around layers of simple melodic phrases—tracks that will especially appeal to fans of ambient and new age music.

B1: Zemeo
B2: Breakdown
