sleeve : EX-(collapse on one corner, some light dirts)

Released in 1976, this album is by American singer Joe Lee Wilson, who delivered outstanding vocal performances on Archie Shepp’s 1970s works such as Attica Blues and The Cry of My People, as well as on Charles Greenlee’s masterpiece I Know About the Life, released on Baystate in 1977. Originally intended for release on Columbia in the US in 1970, this version features a revised track listing with two tracks replaced from the original master. As an officially released edition, this Japanese pressing is regarded as the original release. A total of 14 jazz musicians appear on the album, including Kenny Burrell, Kenny Barron, and Rashid Ali. A truly wonderful work in which Wilson sings jazz classics, R&B classics, and more, backed by excellent performances throughout. It is a perfect showcase for his distinctive vocal style. The avant-spiritual performance on the original score A4 is also outstanding.

A1: Hey Look at You
