This is a 1984 leader album by the American guitarist John Abercrombie, known for leaving behind many masterpieces on ECM. It features a rather unusual quartet with Jan Hammer on keys, Jack DeJohnette on drums, and Mike Brecker on tenor saxophone. The album was recorded in New York in the same year. You can fully enjoy the ECM-style jazz groove with an urban atmosphere in tracks like A1, where reggae rhythms blend gently with Hammer's synthesizer and Brecker's tenor saxophone melodies. Track B2 shines with the contrast between DeJohnette's aggressive drumming and Brecker's mature tenor saxophone playing.
Jan Hammer's refined play is also excellent. Highly recommended.
