This is an album by John Coltrane, the undisputed jazz giant who made the leap from Sheets of Sound to Spiritual Free. Originally recorded in 1965 and released in 1970 after Coltrane's death, this album was produced by his wife Alice Coltrane and features a superb quartet with McCoy Tyner (p), Jimmy Garrison (b), and Elvin Jones (ds), who performs a raging free jazz style. The A2 track, "Dear Load," is a masterpiece that will make you soak up the deep spirituality of Coltrane's world. The over 20-minute suite on the B-side is also excellent. This is an original US pressing with LW stamped on the matrix, without the ®︎ near the label logo. Includes inner sleeve printed “The New Wave of Jazz Is on impulse!”.
A2: Dear Lord
