A collaboration album recorded in 1975 by John Handy, an American-California alto saxophonist who attracted attention in the 1950s when he joined Charles Mingus' group and became interested in Eastern/Indian philosophy, and Ali Akbar Khan, a Bengali-born sarod player based in San Francisco for a long time. The album features Zakir Hussain (tabla) and Yagish S. Sahota (tambura). The music is completely Indian if you listen to performances only Akbar Khan, Hussain, and S. Sahota, but the addition of John Handy's saxophone, which plays soft melodies, adds a colorful touch to the expression. This is a wonderful performance that resonates very gently in the heart. Original German pressing.
