This is a collaboration album recorded in 1975 by John Handy, an alto saxophonist from California, U.S.A., who became interested in Eastern/Indian philosophy when he joined Charles Mingus' group in the 50's, and Ali Akbar Khan, a Bengali sarod player based in San Francisco for a long time. It features Zakir Hussain (tabla) and Yagish S. Sahota (tambura). If you listen to the parts with only Khan, Hussain and Sahota, it is completely Indian music, but the addition of John Handy's saxophone, which plays soft melodies, adds color to the expression. This is a wonderful performance that touches your heart very gently.
