An album released in 1980 by John Kaizan Neptune, an American shakuhachi player who came to Japan in the early 1970s to study shakuhachi in the course of his ethnic music research, and was certified as a shakuhachi master in the Tozan style in 1977. The album features Yasuo Arakawa (b), Yoshinobu Nishimura (g), and other jazz musicians, Latin percussionist Takeshi Onodera, biwa player Junko Handa, taiko drummers Roetsu Tosha and Hiroki Katada, and Indian classical instrument player Premadasa Hegoda, and is a hybrid of different types of music and the shakuhachi. The liner notes that A1 was inspired by South Indian classical music, but it also has some similarities to Indonesian music.

A1: Joy (歓喜)
