This album was released in 1987 by John Zorn, a talented artist whose artistic expression is multifaceted, ranging from modern classical to jazz to avant-garde. The 25-minute-long A-side, "Spillane," is based on mystery writer Mickey Spillane, and was created by instructing the musicians to improvise an outline that evokes a scene from a Spillane novel. B1 features legendary blues guitarist Albert Collins, who performs psychedelic blues with Robert Collins, Big John Patton, Wayne Horvitz, and others. B2 is a tribute to Shintaro Ishihara's film "Crazy Fruit," featuring the string quartet of The Kronos Quartet, known for their performances in Steve Reich's films, with Hiromi Ota's voice and Christian Marclay's turntable performance. This is an important work that expands a completely new musical world.
