An album released in 1971 by American organist Johnny Hammond, who had been active on the front lines since the late 1950s. Known for releasing numerous works on labels like Prestige, New Jazz, and Riverside, Hammond also left behind exquisite albums in the 1970s that became jazz-funk classics and beloved loft classics. This album was released under Kudu, a sub-label of CTI Records, produced by Creed Taylor. It features familiar faces from the label, including Hank Crawford (alto sax), Grover Washington Jr. (tenor sax), Eric Gale (guitar), Airto Moreira (percussion), and Billy Cobham (drums). The recording was engineered by Rudy Van Gelder. A masterpiece showcasing Hammond's blues-rooted, sticky, and groovy soul-jazz.
