The 5 x LP box set includes works composed from the 1950s to the 1970s by the Japanese composer Joji Yuasa, who participated at a young age in his early 20s in the "Jikken Kobo", a group led by the poet Shuzo Takiguchi that explored and practiced postwar avant-garde art, and who, with Toru Takemitsu and others, practiced electronic music, tape music, music concrate, and other avant-garde music. This is an excellent compilation of orchestral, chamber, piano, tape, and choral music, allowing the listener to carefully savor his works while following the transition from one era to the next. Although the compositions and techniques differ from each other, the music created based on the idea of spatial/temporal transition of acoustic energy bodies depicts a very perspectival soundscape.
