This album was released in 1980 as the sixth in the series "Music of Contemporary Japan 1500" by Denon, a subsidiary of Nippon Columbia. It contains four works by Joji Yuasa, a pioneer of music concrete and electronic music in Japan and one of the last great Japanese composers. Conducted by Tadaaki Otaka and performed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. A1 "Time of the Orchestra Time I" was commissioned by the Koussevitzky Foundation in 1975 and premiered by the NHK Symphony Orchestra in 1977; A2 "Projection Flower, Bird, Wind and Moon for Koto and Orchestra" was commissioned by the Miyagi Society and Bunka Hoso at the time of its composition in 1967. B2 "Projection for String Quartet" was commissioned by NHK in 1970 for the "This Century Art Festival". Like Toru Takemitsu, A2 sublimates Japanese ancient music and Japanese instruments into contemporary music, and B1 is an experimental work with a chain of sustained sounds played by a variety of orchestral instruments.
A2: Projection for Kotos and Orchestra “Flower, Bird, Wind and Moon”
B1: Chronoplastic for Orchestra
