A 1975 leader album by American pianist Joseph Bonner, who participated in numerous sessions including historic masterpieces by Pharoah Sanders and Billy Harper, while also leaving behind a number of hidden gems under his own name. Produced by Masahiko Yuh, the album was recorded in New York the same year with Clint Houston on bass and Billy Hart on drums. Across five tracks, Bonner delivers the kind of uplifting, torrential performance that can be considered his true essence, pouring down with an almost squall-like intensity. A superb work that stands alongside The Lifesaver, released the same year, and Angel Eyes from 1976. Highly recommended.
