This is a 1967 leader album by Joseph Jarman, a member of the Art Ensemble of Chicago, one of the most influential and visionary non-profit musician organizations, The Advancement of Creative Musicians, organized at the call of Muhal Richard Abrams. Joseph Jarman is highly regarded as a composer and poet.
The album features William Brimfield on trumpet, Fred Anderson on tenor saxophone, Christopher Gaddy on piano and marimba, Charles Clark on bass, Steve McCall on drums, and Thurman Barker on drums.
The album showcases powerful improvisation with explosive energy on A1 and features a reading of poetry backed by a variety of floating instrument sounds on A2. It captures the early, passionate performances filled with energy that hint at the roots of the Art Ensemble of Chicago (AEOC). Highly recommended.
This is likely a 1970s reissue of the US album.
