American saxophonist/multi-instrumentalist Maurice McIntyre aka Kalaparusha joined the Advancement of Creatvie Musicians (AACM), an organisation formed in Chicago in the mid-1960s around Richard Abrams, and recorded many masterpieces in numerous sessions with the group's members. This album was released in 1972. It is a mixture of floating floating Rita Omolokun chants and raging free improvisations, backed by earthy percussion, quietly playing guitars and bass, as if expressing the providence of nature and the cosmos. A spiritual sound world is created. Highly recommended.
