A piano solo album released in 1975 by Russian-American pianist Katrina Krimsky, who released the acclaimed album 'Stella Malu' in 1981 in a duo with Trevor Watts on ECM. Side A features a piano sonata composed by Samuel Barber. Of particular note is B1, which covers Terry Riley's historic masterpiece "A Rainbow in Curved Air," B2 and B4, compositions co-written with trumpeter Woody Shaw, and B3, which covers the renowned piece "Katrina Ballerina," first performed by Shaw on his album 'The Moonstone.' The way Krimsky emotionally elevates these pieces with just an acoustic piano is truly remarkable. Highly recommended.
